Hi!

This is my _revised_ first MIDI file, and also my first ever contribution to
the net. I hope you enjoy it. It's my rendition of Mike Oldfield's
arrangement of George Gershwin's "I Got Rhythm" (from the album "Platinum").
I'm not professional by any means, as those who are will most likely point
out; I thought middle C was a mid-range compiler! (-:

I did this with my GUS and a little help from a Korg M1 I borrowed from
a friend. It was also an experiment to test the MIDI box which I built
from the diagram in the FAQ (thanks mucho, guys/gals, it works great!).
I used an old version of Cakewalk as a sequencer, since I'm still waiting
for my disks. For those who picked up the first version, this is now a
little less brassy, a bit better with the timing and now incorpoartes full
octave pitch bending.

I'm planning on doing more, but I don't know when they'll be done since
I have a full-time job and a family and currently no MIDI keyboard (the M1
is leaving me soon )-:)

However, comments/suggestions/flames are eagerly received at:

   pettypi@gaul.csd.uwo.ca

at least, for now: I may have to get another account soon.

Bye for now,

Carl Pettypiece.

P.S. Thanks to wcgraham@ucalgary.ca for useful suggestions
P.P.S. Thanks to Dave Thompson for the loan of the Korg and useful ideas.
P.P.P.S. Thanks to Mike Oldfield, my favourite artist.
P.P.P.P.S. Thanks to Gravis for making my dream card (great sound and cheap)!!

    GUS! GUS! GUS!
