Ok, enough small talk; let's go!

-Technical Suff:

It was originally sequenced using the Yamaha SY22 Vector Synthesis synth. Due to its
vector capabitlities, it was easy to create that gradual swelling of feedback Alex
lifeson used in the guitar part in the intro & after the guitar solo. If you are
using any recent reputable synth, I am sure you can easily create some feedback swell
	patch.

My original settings for the SY22:
TRACK NAME CHANNEL PATCH Vocal [lead] 7 4.3 Trombone (preset) 126
		1 Gtr.1 [lead] 1 1.6 E.Gtr[L] (internal)
		2 Gtr.2 [feedback]2 1.8 Feedback (internal)
		3 Gtr.2 [clean] 3 2.1 Folk Gtr (internal)
		4 Gtr.3 [acoustic]4 2.6 6String (internal)
		5 Gtr.4 [solo] 5 1.6 Prpht-08 (internal)
		7 Bass 6 3.5 Stick (internal)
		10 Drums 10 8.8 Dr.Kit (preset)

Note: I took the preset patch 1.4 Dist Gtr & separated the crunch part and feedback
patch into two different patches, and stored in internal memory.
I took the preset patch 1.7 Nostromo & just extracted the bass component; it
sounds exactly like that funky big bottom sound that Tony Levin(Peter Gabriel,
King Crimson) gets from his Chapman Stick.
The rest of the internal patches were downloaded from various sites on the
		Internet.

I re-assigned the patches & drum notes to the general midi standard.

There are additional surprises in the file_info section, such as comments from Neil
Peart about Stick It Out! This will automatically pop up when you load the file into
	Cakewalk.

-Musical notes:

The bulk of the sequence was done through step recording in musical note view in
Cakewalk, following the muscial scores for guitar, and bass contained in Guitar World
(Jan. '94). I folled it very meticulously, preserving vabrato [modualtion], and
hard accents [velocity], and additional strumed chords where the score indicated.

I am quite happy with MY 'midi TRANSCRIPTION' of Neil drum parts. The open/close
high hats in the 1st & 2nd verses are really tricky, but I nailed them! The main
	patterns in the Pre-chorus, Chorus, bridge & outra are pretty basic drum figures;
however, the interlocking of bass drum & Geddy Lee's bass parts really require
quick & dexterity! I really like Neil's fills in this one. They're actually simple
w (notice there are no toms in this song!!!) but very great fills nonetheless.

Stick It Out is one of the most simplistic Rush songs there is. Nevertheless, Alex,
Geddy and Neil manage to really to a lot of rhythm gymnasitics withing the confines
of a basic rock&roll song. It is riff-based, uses sparsely placed power-chords, and
yet it has the elegance, punch and charm as anly a Rush song can give.
