SMILEY

Another Swing-Beat classic, this one uses a pretty unexciting hi
hat pattern playing straight eighths on closed hat using open hat
only on the 2nd eight of the 1st beat. The snare and claps play on
every 2nd and 4th beat of the bar. The tambourine pattern is
playing triplet sixteenths (missing the 2nd triplet) giving this
pattern an irresistible swing or groove. The bass drum is busier
than on most other patterns of this style in that while it always
plays the first beat of every bar, it also uses the last sixteenth
triplet beat just before beats 2, 3, and 4 of the bar.
