DEPECHE.ZIP - Collection of Depeche Mode songs in MID format.

ABOUT THESE MIDS
----------------
When I first got Cakewalk in 1989 (then at version 3), I
decided to see what MIDI sequencing was all about by entering
some of my favourite songs from Depeche Mode. So I whipped out
my trusty DM 101 songbook and programmed them in with an old
piece of junk Casio MT-240 and a Roland TR-707 drum machine
both hooked up to a Roland MPU-401 port.

Recently, I've (kinda) updated the patch numbers to coincide with
the General MIDI numbering scheme that the GUS uses.

THE PATCHES
-----------
First of all, the patch combinations could be better, I'm sure.
Right now I run OS/2 2.1beta and the Gravis drivers don't like
Win-OS/2 3.1. Thus, I have no fancy patch manager to play with,
or sequencing programs that work with the GUS to make it easier
to decide which patches sound the best. The only way I can input
stuff is to enter it into Cakewalk 4.0e for DOS via the MPU-401
(still using that Casio MT-240), then lookup the patches on my
hardcopy of 'default.cfg' and make my best guess at what would
sound okay. Then I shell to DOS, try the song using 'playmidi',
go back into Cakewalk and continuing making selections and repeating
the process until I have a sound I like. The ones I've set are
okay, but again, they could be better. (See below)

DISCLOSURES
-----------
I don't know if it's legal to upload this kinda stuff or not, but
since I don't want any money for my troubles, then there shouldn't
be a problem. If you want to make me happy, update the patches
to sound really good, then tell me where I can get the new versions.
- Enjoy
