Loading the Main Dictionary (UNIX)

The startup functions loads the DECtalk Software main pronunciation dictionary.

/usr/lib/dtk/dtalk_language_code.dic

Replace language_code with the designation for the appropriate language, such as US for United States English, GR for German, LA for Latin American Spanish, or UK for United Kingdom English, for example, dtalk_us.dic.

If the dictionary file cannot be found or is loaded improperly, then the startup function returns an error.
