Punctuation [:punct]

The four modes of the Punctuation command are:

DECtalk00090000.gif None - No punctuation is spoken.

DECtalk00090000.gif Some - Text is read normally.

DECtalk00090000.gif All - All punctuation is spoken.

DECtalk00090000.gif Pass - Turns off all special punctuation processing. For example, periods as part of file names.

The pass option is useful in proofreading as well as in applications where special characters are encountered, such as in a computer program. This command is synchronous.

Note
When the [:punct none] command is used, no punctuation is pronounced although dollar amounts and percentages are still processed.
