Hexedit is an easy-to-use  file editor for viewing, creating,
and editing  DOS binary files.  File contents are  displayed,
and can be  edited and printed in both  ASCII and hexadecimal
formats.  Hexedit is  ideal for  creating and  editing binary
input files (eg. configuration files) for other applications,
seeing what's happening in those files which you regular text
editor  refuses  to  handle,  modifying  executable files, or
whatever else you need to do with any DOS file.


Hexedit provides the following features:

- Set/modify file read-only and hidden attributes.
- Enter bytes in either hex or ASCII formats.
- File offsets displayed on screen.
- Insert and overtype modes.
- Import the contents of one file into another.
- "Save As".
- Search for/replace strings, specified in either hex or
  ASCII.
- Count number of occurrences of a string.
- Search/replace/count can be either global or within a
  selected block.
- Jump to any file offset.
- Truncate file after cursor.
- Copy/insert/delete blocks.
- Print entire file or selected block.
- Single-key repeat change.
- Display file/directories (including hidden and system
  files).
- Delete files.

Hardware Requirements : IBM-compatible computer. 256k RAM,
                                                Hard Disk preferable.

Other Requirements : DOS 2.0 or higher.
