GUIDE TO CD-ROM ACCESS DISK Version 2
                  Supplied by Raised Dot Computing

If you just want to learn about CD-ROM technology, read the file CDROM.TXT

If you have purchased the DAK CD-ROM package, do not use the installation
process described in the DAK documentation. Instead, use the installation
instructions supplied on this disk. Read the file INSTALL.TXT. This
describes how to use the CDINSTAL program on this disk.

Once you have installed the software and want to know how to operate these
applications, read the file CDREF.TXT. This file is also available as a
braille formatted file in CDREF.BFM, and a MegaDots file in CDREF.MEG.

This disk also contains X_PRESS.TXT, which describes a wonderful text-based
system for getting news and other information through your cable TV signal.

Any questions? Call (608) 257-8833 day; (608) 241-2498 night.

If you are a braille user, consider using the MegaDots braille translation
program. It can read the file formats of about 60 different word processor
programs. Call Raised Dot Computing at (800) 347-9594 for a MegaDots demo
disk. The demo disk does everything the $350 disk does, but it is limited
to working with files under 3,000 characters.

Raised Dot Computing also sells the VersaPoint (braille embosser), the
Audapter (voice synthesizer), Flipper (screen access), ZoomText (screen
enlargement). Raised Dot also has a line of Apple II software. We have
literature in print, audio, and braille. We print a useful Newsletter in
print and audio. We have numerous demo disks. Write or call for literature,
a sample issue of the Newsletter, or demo disks. To request these items
from Raised Dot, call at (800) 347-9594.

If you have additional notes, tools, batch files, or suggestions, send them
to Raised Dot Computing. We would like to be a continuing source of
applications information to help blind people use CD-ROMs. The address is
Raised Dot Computing, 408 S. Baldwin Street, Madison WI 53703.

There are literally dozens of popular CD-ROM disks which are NOT documented
here. If you have any other titles, please write them up and send the
material to Raised Dot Computing. If you do not have the time to do this
research, consider lending some titles to Raised Dot so we can document
additional titles.
