world.

                         WORD PERFECT 6

Word Perfect is the leader in word processing software for
home and business. TMT presents a 4-tape series on the latest 6
version of the program. The cassette tutorial offers twelve
lessons which begin with a step-by-step installation procedure to
insure that any blind user can install the program independent of
sighted assistance. The next lesson spends a great deal of time
demonstrating and explaining the online Word Perfect help system
so the user can continue learning without being forced to depend
upon a printed manual. Then comes creating and editing documents
including cursor movement and editing features such as the block
command and working with large blocks of text. WP 6 has a
powerful file and directory manager and the TMT tutorial spends a
great deal of emphasis on this utility in order to provide the
user with the ability to copy, move, rename and delete files as
well as instruction on getting around a directory structure on the
hard disk. Printing documents is likewise adequately covered and
configuring the program to function as preferred is clearly
outlined. Advanced editing features are also demonstrated and
explained such as deleting and undeleting text, advanced blocking
commands, appending text, formatting, underlining, justification,
setting margins, displaying multiple windows of text on-screen,
moving between windows, and choosing fonts. Additionally,
exploration of the Word Perfect writing tools are covered. Learn
to use the spell checker, thesaurus and the grammar utilities with
this TMT tutorial. Macros, both simple and advanced, are likewise
covered with examples. File merge, form files and database files

explaining the Word Perfect fax program; its installation and
application. In short, you can't go wrong with the TMT Word
Perfect 6 Talk-Me-Thru Tutorial.

                               9.0

                      WORD PERFECT 5.1 PLUS

Many businesses and individuals have chosen not to upgrade to
Word Perfect 6 due to its need of greater memory, faster
computers, and its totally different feel and look compared to
earlier versions of the program. Word Perfect 5.1 therefore has
remained one of the most popular word processors on the market.
Due to its continued popularity, TMT has produced a 4-tape series
on Word Perfect 5.1 plus. Because of the almost identical nature
of 5.1 plus to earlier Word Perfect 5 releases, users of Word
Perfect 5.0 and 5.1 will be able to take advantage of this
tutorial. The only major difference is the addition of the Word
Perfect 5.1 plus fax software.

As in the Word Perfect 6 tutorial, TMT offers twelve lessons
which begin with a step-by-step installation procedure to insure
that any blind user can install the program independent of
sighted assistance. The first item of business, following
program installation, is the Word Perfect 5.1 plus help system.
Next the tutorial focuses on the setup system in order to assist
the user in program customization. Creating and editing simple
documents comes next. Since macros save keystrokes and streamline
word processing operations, this tutorial offers a lesson on
simple macro definition and application. Because WP 5.1 has a
powerful file and directory manager, the TMT tutorial spends a
great deal of emphasis on this utility in order to provide the
user with the ability to copy, move, rename and delete files as
well as instruction on getting around a directory structure on the
hard disk. Printing documents is likewise adequately covered as
well as many printing options. A great deal of time is spent on
advanced editing features such as deleting and undeleting text,
advanced blocking commands, appending text, formatting,
underlining, justification, setting margins, displaying more than
one window of text on the screen at a time, switching between
windows, and choosing fonts. Additionally, learning how to use
the Word Perfect spell checker and thesaurus are covered. this
tutorial also expands macro application with an advanced macro
chapter. File merge, form letters and database files are also
explained and illustrated. The tutorial concludes with
installation of the fax software and a demonstration of how a fax
is sent with Word Perfect 5.1 Plus.

                              10.0

                  THE INFORMATION SUPER HIGHWAY

Tape 1

The internet has rapidly become the most common electronic

internet offers an introductory Talk-Me-Thru Tutorial on the
information super highway with live Dectalk demonstrations of
online services and features. The cassette tutorial begins by
explaining what the internet is and does and even offers ways of
accessing the
internet free of charge. Internet vendors and carriers, prices,
accessibility and availability are also discussed. The online
help system of Frequently Asked Questions called FAQ, and the
online Manual, MAN for short, are clearly explained to insure the
blind internet subscriber is able to learn independently.
Electronic mail, normally referred to as email, is discussed in
detail along with the usage of the mail editors of ELM and PINE.
These to online programs allow internet users to manage their
electronic mail including, keeping an address book of frequently
emailed friends, attaching files with messages, and mailing group
messages. GOPHER, TELNET, the World Wide Web, known as WWW, and
LYNX are programs which allow the user to connect globally and are
briefly explained in this first internet tutorial. An online
demonstration of gopher shows how a blind internet user can take
advantage of text based information services worldwide. News
groups are worldwide discussion conferences and support groups
which number in the thousands. They contain hundreds of thousands
of public messages from people all over the planet. This tutorial
explains, as well as illustrates, how to access these
international news groups. The internet also offers hundreds of
thousands of files to download. The method of obtaining such
downloads is via the File Transfer Protocol interface; FTP for
short. Because FTP is quite involved, both a live demonstration
is conducted and additional tips are likewise offered. The tape
concludes with some free internet resources. Though this tape is
far from exhaustive, it will help anyone considering internet
access for the first time and those already online who have
discovered just how difficult navigating the internet really is
without prior knowledge. The internet is the wave of the future
for the blind computer user and this first internet TMT Tutorial
is an excellent way to begin.

the world through this TMT tutorial.

Tape 3

Pine - The Electronic Mail Online Editor And Manager

The third in the TMT internet series begins with a brief
introduction of pine for new users and then moves right into the
pine main menu. Getting help with pine while online is the next
order of business. Following the pine help system comes reading,
replying, writing and composing messages. Advanced features
include saving messages and attached files to disk and folders,
learning to attach files to email messages, sending carbon copies
of a message to multiple recipients and how to forward a message

                              12.0

                        TALKING DIRECTORY

THE SPEECH FRIENDLY FILE AND DIRECTORY MANAGER

Talking Directory by Access Success can provide all file,

                              13.0

                             READIT

                    THE TEXT VIEWING UTILITY

READIT is a popular text viewing utility among blind computer
users because of its ease of operation and its file management
features. The Talk-Me-Thru cassette tutorial on READIT begins
with program description, file description and program
installation. Lesson 1 covers loading files, screen display
layouts, status line information, cursor movement within the text
file, and the online READIT help system. Lesson to gets into
advanced READIT commands and features such as text scrolling
options, function key commands, text search application, setting
multiple bookmarks, cutting and saving text to disk, and the note
memo editor. Lesson 3 focuses on the file management features of
the program such as loading directories, moving, copying,
renaming, deleting and sorting files, and command line options.
Because READIT actually functions as several programs in one, a
single tutorial is simply inadequate to cover everything. A
second READIT TMT tutorial, therefore, is planned. The advanced
READIT TMT tutorial will demonstrate how to read archived text
files, explain how to install READIT to operate as a pop-up TSR,
and will explore the READIT configuration utility.

                              14.0

                        FAXIT AND SSFAXER

                THE SPEECH FRIENDLY FAX SOFTWARE

There are many software packages on the market today which
provide fax capability but most are, at the least, confusing and
at the worst, very speech unfriendly. Even though Word Perfect
5.1 and 6 both have fax capability, many blind computer users
often run short of memory, find it awkward to use, or don't have
either version of Word Perfect in the first place. Now there is
an alternative with Faxit and SSFAXER. They are both simple to
install, easy to use, and very speech friendly and TMT even makes
it easier by providing a tutorial.

Faxit is freeware and is a speech friendly interface written
by Jamal; author of CTS and Talking Directory. SSFAXER is an
inexpensive shareware program which Faxit uses to transmit a file
with the help of your fax modem. It can also function as a stand
alone DOS command line fax utility. Faxit, on the other hand, is
menu driven and serves as a speech friendly interface.

The most convenient aspect of Faxit is the two Word Perfect
5.1 macros which come with the program. These macros allow the WP
5.1 user to write the document to be faxed in Word Perfect and
then saves it as a properly formatted ascii text file; ready to be
faxed. Thus the Word Perfect macros, which come with Faxit, help
stream line the entire procedure. Of course, if you don't use
Word Perfect, SSFAXER works great by itself.

                              15.0

                               CTS

                     CONTACT TRACKING SYSTEM

CTS is a speech friendly database which allows the user to
keep track of thousands of address and phone numbers as well as
other related information. The data is easily sorted, retrieved
and modified with minimal key strokes at any time. CTS also
interfaces with your favorite word processor to assist in creating
instant documents including letterheads, mailing labels and
business and personal letter formats all from within the CTS
program itself.

This TMT tutorial walks the user step-by-step through the
program installation and configuration. From there, learn how to
access the online help system, create, retrieve and modify
records, dial phone numbers, filter and sort entries, move, delete
and transfer records to other tracking files, read and write
memos, generate letters, and create new contact tracking files.
The tutorial concludes with demonstrating how to back up your data
files and explores the CTS utilities such as re-indexing and
program re-configuration.

                              16.0

                       EASY DOS UTILITIES

Easy DOS Utilities is a collection of eighteen speech
friendly, easy to use, DOS utilities to assist the computer user
in accomplishing every-day DOS application. Unfortunately, many
people today are misled into thinking that once they have entered
the Windows Environment, no longer will they need to know anything
about DOS application. Nothing could be further from the truth.
Easy DOS Utilities is a tutorial to assist the blind talking
computer user with those every-day DOS applications that one
simply cannot overlook or live without. This tutorial comes with
a diskette of freeware and shareware programs such as a simple
file manager, a text viewing utility, a text editor, file byte
calculator, an auto directory selector, simple file finders, a
very simple multiple diskette file copier, and much more including
a demonstration of how to modify your autoexec.bat file. This
tutorial even comes with a quick and easy install program to make
application of these utilities even easier. Yes, you can purchase
a complicated, expensive, and speech unfriendly program to do your
daily DOS operations, but why bother when the DOS Utilities
tutorial makes it simple.

                              17.0

                     MCAFEE VIRUS PROTECTION

TMT offers a tutorial on two of McAfee's most popular virus
protection programs recorded on a single cassette. Virus Scan and
Virus Shield both will offer the maximum protection available for
personal and commercial use and they are both speech friendly.
The tutorial walks the user through installation and demonstrates
a variety of program applications including scanning your computer
memory, scanning multiple diskettes for virus infection, writing a
report to disk of all program activities, and how to remove any
viruses, if any, when found on your computer. The tutorial
concludes with the installation and use of the McAfee Virus Shield
program which resides in memory to protect you from virus

the current shareware releases of the McAfee antivirus software.

                 Q&A DATABASE AND WORD PROCESSOR

In today's age of instant information, database application
has become an absolute necessity. It is especially useful to a
blind computer user because of the ease of data access and
retrieval. Address and telephone records, personal contact
information, data classification, inventory management, document
and report organization, invoicing processing, mailing list
maintenance, product cataloging, and even maintaining an index of
cd rom, cassette, and diskette titles is now made convenient with
the TMT tutorial on the speech friendly Q&A database program and
word processor.

The TMT tutorial on Q&A walks the blind computer user through
the cd rom installation of the program step by step. Fortunately,
the diskette installation is nearly the same as the cd rom. The
advantage, however, of the cd rom version of q and a is it's cost.
Many Q&A distributor sell the cd rom version for fifty dollars.
The diskette version is five times that amount.

Following installation, the TMT tutorial begins by showing
the user how to access the built in online help system. Cd rom
users also have the advantage of accessing the complete Q&A manual
available only on the cd rom. An explanation of how to use and
access this manual is part of the TMT tutorial. Other Q&A lessons
include program customization and configuration, menu structures,
database introduction, creating and designing a database, adding
information to the database, editing features, cursor movement and
key commands, retrieving information, alphabetizing data, how to
sort and retrieve on multiple sort levels, and how to remove
unwanted records in your database. The two tape set tutorial
concludes by teaching how simple it is to back up data files and
how to recover a corrupted database if there is a power failure or
computer lockup.

Additional Q&A tutorials soon to be released will take the
user into advanced Q&A applications. Items such as redesigning a
current database, creating complex databases, designing multiple
databases, complex search and retrieve implementation, printer
installation, advanced function key commands, macro creation and
application, and external program installation and application
will be covered. The additional tapes will also extensively cover
the Q and A built in word processor including using the spell
checker and thesaurus, writing and printing documents, editing
features, key commands, macros, function key application, file
merge, and printing labels. The Q and A built in word processor
is comparable to Word Perfect and many blind users find the Q and
A word processor preferable since they are using it as a database
in the first place. In short, Q&A offers everything in a single
package and TMT makes Q&A database application user friendly for
the blind computer user.
