MegaDots requires a hard disk with five megabytes free, and an IBM PC
compatible with at least 2 megabytes of RAM memory. If you do not have a
computer with these requirements, please give the demo to someone who does.

On this demo disk, we have limited the ability to import files and
sabotaged the ability to save and export files. This demo disk can import
WordPerfect files and ASCII textfiles that are less than 3,000 characters long.
The program rejects files larger than 3,000 characters.

On the production disk, the file importation is very slick. When you tell
MegaDots to import a file on the production program, it automatically
figures out what kind of a file it is and then proceeds to run the
appropriate conversion. You do not have to tell MegaDots what kind of file
it is. During the importation process, MegaDots analyzes the file very
carefully, and decides on a paragraph by paragraph basis what is a heading,
what is body text, what is a list, etc.

- Installation

To install this program, put it in your floppy drive, and type A:INSTALL
<Enter> or B:INSTALL <Enter> (depending on whether the drive you put the
disk in is drive A or drive B).

We recommend that you store the MegaDots demo disk in C:\MEGA. That is the
same directory that we recommend you use for the production software. That
way, once you buy the production software, you can install it on top of
this demo.

- Installation Problems

Some Users have reported problems installing MegaDots. Turn off QEMM if you
have QEMM installed (especially if you are using the Stealth feature).
Turn off SHARE if you are using SHARE. Now try to install again.

If you need a fax or an e-mail message explaining how to use MegaDots with
Windows 95, or how any difficulty installing the software, please call us
immediately.

- Producing Documentation

To output documentation, change to the MEGA directory and type MEGAMAN <Enter>

There is a simple menu system to produce documentation.

The serial port (if used) is automatically set for 9600 baud, 8 data bits,
1 stop bit, and no parity. The second parameter is the carriage width. This
is usually 72.

- Using MegaDots with Speech Access

Read the file ACCESS.TXT for information on the voice interface.

- Using MegaDots without reading the Manual

The temptation to use a program without reading any documentation is
universal. Remember that MegaDots is a word processor. To leave the program
use Alt-X; to get into the top menu bar use F10; and to get help at any
point use F1.
