Item 28 Vocal-Eyes, Unix, 'lynx'.
I'll try to be brief. I love to help people; I love to
experiment; I love to watch people learn this crazy technology.
Feel free to contact me with ideas or questions at
jddjeff@netcom.com. Computers have been most of my life for
about 12 years. I don't know the best way to do anything, but I
know how to do a lot of things. Here are some of the things I'm
currently in tune with, willing to retune myself into, or looking
for an excuse to become more tuned into. Internet, World Wide
Web, Unix, Usenet, Telix for MS-DOS (including macro programming
language), Vocal-Eyes. WordPerfect 6.0, including macro
programming language. 'pine', 'mush' (Mail-Users' SHell), 'trn',
'lynx', 'joe', 'emacs', 'ncftp'. Unix file-finding and
-processing tools, such as 'grep', 'awk', 'find'. Unix shells:
'csh', 'tcsh', 'sh', and 'bash'.
Diversity University. If you have 'tf' (TinyFugue), use
tf DU.Org 8888
otherwise, use
telnet DU.Org 8888
If you have _any_ comments or suggestions about accessing
Diversity University as a blind person, please, either let people
at D.U. know (there's a *Able mailing list) or let me know and
give me permission to pass your message along.
I own the lynx-learners@Sasquatch.Com mailing list, and I help a
lot at Global Blind Exchange ('rlogin -8 GBX.Org'). I used to do
a lot of work with MS-DOS batch files, before I fell in love with
Unix about a year and a half ago, so I can give a lot of techy
detail about MS-DOS batch files, programming and use, as long as
I'm not involving myself in a MS-DOS-based project.
I am currently using MS-DOS 6.2 on a 386/33MHz, Vocal-Eyes 2.2
(but I have 3.0), and Artic Synphonix 210. I assume all my
questions and answers are interactive (i.e., I give you some
nonsense; you experiment based on that nonsense and ask for
clarification (I try to be as clear as possible, but this world
is too crazy to be worried overmuch about clarity)).
