STATE DEPARTMENT TRAVEL ADVISORY - Bolivia
============================================================
BOLIVIA - CAUTION
 September 21, 1991

The Department of State recommends that Americans exercise caution
when traveling in Bolivia. While no foreign tourists have been
injured or targeted by terrorists, isolated terrorist incidents
against American officials and missionaries have occurred over the
past three years.

In addition, U.S. citizen travelers in Bolivia should be aware of a
recent but limited outbreak of cholera in La Paz area. American
travelers should use only bottled water and beverages. Vegetables
and shellfish should be well cooked and all foods eaten while still
hot. All fruits should be peeled. Additional information can be
obtained from the Centers for Disease Control's International
Travelers Hotline at 404-332-4559.

Upon arrival U.S. citizens should seek the latest travel
information and register with the Consular Section of the U.S.
Embassy located on the 2nd floor, Tobia Bldg., Potosi Street, Corner
Colon, at Tel. 320-494.

 No. 91-177.

This replaces the advisory dated April 25, 1991, by including a
section on cholera.
