STATE DEPARTMENT TRAVEL ADVISORY - Thailand
============================================================
THAILAND - CAUTION
 May 29, 1992

The Department of State advises U.S. citizens that the Royal Thai
government has lifted the state of emergency that was instituted in
Bangkok and surrounding areas during the May 17-20 clashes between
demonstrators and the authorities. The situation in Bangkok remains
unsettled as the National Parliament attempts to form a new
government.

U.S. citizens who travel to Thailand are advised to contact the
American Embassy in Bangkok for the latest information on local
conditions.

This advisory replaces the advisory dated May 18, 1992, and is
issued to reflect improved security conditions and deletes the
warning that U.S. citizens defer travel to Bangkok.
