hey guys !

I have norton desktop for Windows 3.0 and the same thing happens,
NDW.EXE caused a GPF in module ULTRASND.DRV at 0001:AA6F

I tried Progman and it works (well almost) the startup wave has got clips and
breaks, but after the startup wav all is fine ! I dun like it, so i've gone
back to the v3.11 disk, windows drivers (i only copied the *.drv and the *.386
driver files back in, all else is new... like v3.53 mixer, patch manager etc.)
the old drivers work perfrectly on my WFWG 3.11 system.

I have emailed Gravis several times at tech@gravis.com, got no reply so far...

Anyone managed to solve this problem yet ?

cheers

Jerry

I too got a GPF w/ my shell Iconbar - it was nice - back to Progman for a
while.

BTW - my opening sound file skips a bit - anyone else have this happen?

All of these GUS breakdowns may be because of INSTGRPS running. Try getting
it out of system.ini. In addition, there could be a problem with the DMA
buffers - they sure killed my startup sound! I just took them down from
4096 to 2048 and presto, smooth as butter.
Try finding the place where they're mentioned and changing it by hand is may
advice.
As for the Acer hanging - try removing the -dj switch from ultrinit. It may
crash older revision GUSses, just like it did to my 2.4.
HTH,
Yossi.
PS I'm using Windows 3.11 with Multi-Lingual support.
