Does Gravis have an official midi manufacturer's id number? I know that
Roland is 41h (65) and Yamaha is 43h (67). In order to comply with the
GM spec, a driver must respond to the sysex message

 F0 7E 7F 09 01 F7

where F0 is 'begin sysex'
      7E is 'universal non-real-time'
      7F is 'braodcast'
      09 is 'General Midi subsystem'
      01 is 'turn on'
      F7 is 'end of sysex'

Normally, the second 8 bits is a manufacturer's id. If there is one for Gravis,
I could implement some needed sysex stuff (since I need to implement this
GM on/reset anyway).

To GUS folks: if you haven't got an id, you can get one from the MIDI Assoc.

John
