	
		WAVECAT V1.0 - README FILE
		============================
GENERAL:
WAVECAT allows users who can play wave files on their computer, to arrange
these files into organised groups of sounds rather like the telphone Yellow
Pages. Wave files are denoted by having the '.WAV' extension attached to 
the filename.

WAVECAT as distributed on Bulletin Boards etc. is fully functional EXCEPT 
that it will not write to disk! To make your program fully functional, you 
must enter a REGISTRATION number into the program as requested on program 
startup.

Please us the WAVECAT MENU/HELP option to obtain full details on how to 
obtain your REGISTRATION number.

SYSTEM REQUIREMENTS:
WAVECAT is written in VISUAL BASIC and uses the Windows Multimedia Extension
interface (MCI) and as such requires the following system components:

	- a sound card that can play wave files 
	- WINDOWS 3.1 
	- WINDOWS WRITE text editor
	- WINDOWS NOTEPAD
		 

INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS:

1) Create a new directory called C:\WAVECAT.

4) Move the WAVECAT.ZIP file to this directory.

5) Unzip the WAVECAT.ZIP file and check that the 
   following files are present:

	Help files:
		- README.TXT
		- WAVEHELP.WRI

	Program FIles:
		- WAVECAT.EXE
		
	Icon File:
		- WAVECAT.ICO

	Visual Basic Files:
		- VBRUN300.DLL
		- CMDIALOG.VBX
		- COMMDLG.DLL
		
	
6) Move the following four files to your 
   C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM directory; 
		
	- VBRUN300.Dll
	- CMDDIALOG.VBX
	- COMMDLG.DLL
	
7) Use the WINDOWS 'PROGRAM MANAGER/FILE/PROPERTIES' 
   feature to assign the WAVECAT.ICO icon file and a
   program group to the WAVECAT.EXE program. 

8) Click on the WAVECAT icon to start the WAVECAT 
   program, or, run the WAVECAT.EXE file directly.
