-------------------Dune ][ Fix - Recreated by Jeff Angeles--------------------

TECHNICAL NOTES:

This file contains the configuration to Dune ][. I've used a hex editor and
the configuration files from the dune2fix.zip and dune2ail.zip archives to
set Dune ][ as General MIDI for music, SoundBlaster for sound effects, while
taking advantage of EMS, and using a Microsoft mouse. Unlike the dune2fix, and
the dune2ail fixes, this uses MegaEM, instead of UltraMID.

The benefits are:
- No extra conventional memory used
- All of the music can be heard (can't hear some of the music in the dune2fix
  and the dune2ail patches.)

The drawback is:
- Some sound effects are still heard through General MIDI because lots of
older games uses GM notes as sound effects. (i.e.: launced missles sounds
  like a piano, etc.)

HOW TO USE THIS PATCH:

Unlike the other patches, there is no real need to back up your files. All you
need to do is to copy the extracted file, dune2gus.cfg, over the dune.cfg
file. Once you're done, run MegaEM, and you're ready to go.

WARNING: NEVER run the setup utility because you might overwrite the dune.cfg
file. If that happens, you're probably going to have to recopy the
dune.cfg file with my fix if you still want to run Dune ][ with
         General MIDI and Soundblaster.

Legal NFO: This file is provided as freeware, and I don't care what you do
with it. Just don't blame me if something goes wrong :-)...
