Feel free to send my posts to the GUS FAQ maintainer.

By the way, I'm using an Adaptec 1522 SCSI card.

I'm not proficient with SAW yet but it seems that it shouldn't be a
problem to get 8 tracks, although playback and recording is always in
stereo pairs. you can use the four stereo tracks as 8 tracks if you do
things smartly. Forexample you can bring in a .WAV file that just has
one channel recorded (or that has both recorded and edit out one side)
and then bring in another and merge them into a single stereo track.

Subject: Midi volume

Hi, 'vrybody

I know that perhaps this isn't the right place where to put this question,
but I think that here there should be some people who encountered the same
problem before (and hopefully solved it !).

I own two soundboard (and a half..): a 1Mb Gus and a Sound Galaxy NX Pro
16 equipped with a Roland SCD-55 daughterboard. I also have a Korg Poly-800
synth that I can connect to any of the two boards' midi ports.
The problem is that when I play on the sinth, wishing to listen to the
music via any of the soundboards, the volume of the notes is much lower
than the one I hear when the computer plays the same note from within any
midi-player.

I use many sequencing programs, and with any of then (and with any
soundboard) I got the some problem: if I wish to play just the melody of a
song, leaving the computer playing the base, it' almost impossible to
listen to what I play: is the only solution to this to lower all the
channels' volumes and to raise just that of the channel I'm using to play ?

I hope that I've been clear enought... it's not so easy to explain...

Waiting for an answer from one of you, Midi Gurus...

Thanks for your kind attention, I'd like to wish you a Merry Christmas and
a happy New Year (always to spend with our GUS !).
