GUNS - Advanced Gravis Ultrasound patches

(C) 1992, 1993 Copyright IdMEDIA and Franois Dion

Description
===========

      GUNS is the 1st patch set of the FX patches serie. In this serie,
all patches are various sound effects. It is distributed in an archive called
GUNS.ZIP. In the archive you should have:

Directory of B:\
PISTOL2  PAT     31149 08-16-93   2:44p
PISTOL1  PAT     62265 08-16-93  11:24p
MACHGUN1 PAT      2117 08-16-93   3:27p
GUNS     TXT      3835 08-16-93  11:24p
        4 file(s)

      If a file is missing or is not of this length, please ask the person
you got it from to erase the archive and get the correct version from one of
the official distribution points (see end of file).

      PISTOL1.PAT is a .38 caliber pistol sampled in 16 bit/22KHz. A smaller
version is also included in PISTOL2.PAT. It is the same pistol, but in 16
bits/11KHz. MACHGUN1.PAT is a (simulated from 1 shot) big caliber machine
gun (like a manual Gatling). Pistol1 or 2 is to replace instrument 127
(the ring whistle) by the intended GM instrument, which is a gun shot, while
machgun1 is a fixed frequency playback for use in the percussion section, but
could however be put in the melodic section.

What's next
===========

      Other sound effects like touchtones, hammer, drill, glass etc... will
be available before the end of the year.

      If they do not sound better than the ones distributed by Gravis, i will
not bother to release them, but i think they will be worth it. In parallel
i'll be doing a PERCS patch serie (percussive sounds), an ANASYN patch
serie (analog synths) and a REAL patch serie (real instruments).

Legalities
==========

between me (Francois Dion) and the user of these patches.

      You can redistribute this archive provided that you keep all the
files in the archive. You cannot rename the archive to anything else
than: GUNS.ext, where ext is the extension of the archiver. You
cannot modify the patches (including the name) without my permission.

      No fees can be charged to distribute this archive except for
the direct cost of the media on which it is distributed, limited to
3$ in Canadian funds. For CDROM, contact me.

      By using or distributing the patches you agree to these conditions.

The future
==========

      This patch set is released to the GUS community to try out and is
free. You can however send me any contributions ( postcards, money,
floppies, beers, cars =) ) to keep me motivated in developping new patches
(and applications) for the GUS community. A big THANK YOU to people who
have sent me notes of appreciation (be it for patches, tutorials, articles,
programs, etc...).
