Subject: Max memory and sample "clicks"

I've stepped up to a GUS Max. I need to rid myself of 512k of NEC memory
for the old GUS and replace that with the same amount of Max memory. Anyone
want the old chips? Anyone have a suggestion for a reasonably priced source
for the Max memory?

I've still got a lot of sample-end distortion in my MIDI and .wav playback
with
the Max. Some sounds seem to be more disturbed than others. Any ideas
why?

thanks,
Tom Day

Hi Gusers !

As a guser myself, and like a lot of you - I guess, I like listening to midi
files. I have a nice collection of more than 20 megs, and I was starting
to have some 'little' problems managing this huge mass of files...
The main problem was to have an up-to-date list to give to other people
when exchanging midi files.
It was mainly important to have the title of the relative song beside
every file title...

And here's the solution: Midilist.
This great-little utility will build an index file of your midis, placing the
title of the song right beside the file infos. It can also make a
recursive search of your directories, so that you can have both partial
and total indexes.

I'm sorry if the content of this post isn't strictly related to the
subject of the mail-list, but I'm sure that this could solve a problem
that's common to many, many readers.
Besides, this utility (must admit: I am the author...) is absolutely
Public Domain so that I got no direct interest in advertising...

For now you can find it at FTP.WU-WIEN.AC.AT \incoming\midi\midlst09.zip
(it's about 12 k short).

I think that it should be also shortly available at FTP.CS.RUU.NL : just
the time of validating it...

If you'll like it, please upload it to other servers/bbs.

Greetings
