Okay...I see that chorus and reverb are disabled for the version of
Recording Session given out with the GUS.

BUT, if I did buy the full-blown version...could I then USE the chorus and
reverb options which would then be there?

One person wrote on the last digest that the chorus and reverb data entry
parameters wouldn't work with the GUS, only other Roland devices. Another
person wrote that I should purchase MidiSoft Recording Session and that
chorus and reverb would be useable.

I just gotta know...which is right?

I would like to purchase Recording Session (any prices out there?) if I
could use chorus and reverb. Otherwise, I'll try out that trick in the FAQ.

Thanks everybody.

Has anybody been able to get csound (a freeware composing program) to
work with the GUS, and if so would you please outline what you did?

Thanks, Emory Menefee

Subject: MIDI cable magic?

Greetings one and all:

I am a new GUSser, and am interested in getting the GUS talking with my Kawai keyboard. I have a MIDI
cable for my old SoundBlaster--will it work with the GUS joy/MIDI port? Thoughts are appreciated...

You can certainly select different MIDI output devices for
each MIDI channel. No control over input though.

On a different subject, several postings yesterday point out
that the commercial version of MIDISoft's sequencer *does*
have Reverb and Chorus controls. It is still my belief that
the GUS is unable to implement these, even if they are in
the sequencer.
