I've never heard of this one before. Try hitting the panic button
(furthest right on the toolbar) and seeing if you can get the patch to
load. Also make sure you are transmitting on the correct MIDI
channell--i think that the sound you are editing is on 1 and the sine
wave test tone is on 2 . . .

Yeah, but it doesn't give you much control. You can set up a keymap and
define loop points for each sample, but you can't edit envelopes at all.
For doing the latter i suggest Ped2, a pre-PatchMaker editor that you can
find on the ftp mirrors in ultrasound/sound/patches/util. It gives you
envelope control, and control of a few other options that PatchMakers won't.

It's pretty obvious. If you have the newest drivers, however, you can
set up banks with PatchMan/Bankman and won't need to edit ULTRASND.INI.

Other madphat software for patchmaking: MPB (it's on the mirrors,
somewhere) is a patch browser for the GUS that lets you audition patches
directly from disk without switching banks, and 2PAT converts just about
everything to GUS format: EPS sounds, 12-bit Yamaha TX16W sounds, K2000
sounds, Turtle Beach sounds, and on and on. In most formats it retains
loops points, envelopes, and/or multisamples.

First of all if you have a Kurzweil 2000 patch, you should use 2PAT to
convert your .KRZ patch to a .PAT. All loopings and stuff will be
preserved, but this is where you will need Patch Maker Lite to edit the
envelopes and tune the patch once 2PAT converts it. I recommend using
2PAT14, which requires Win32s btw, and v1.13 (or better if such exists)
of Patch Maker Lite.
