Subject: MIDAS Windows MOD player

I recently got the MIDAS Windows MOD player. It looks like a pretty cool
program. It plays MODS and S3M's in windows. Has anyone got this program to
work with the GUS. It says it has GUS support, but I am unable to get it to
work.
    Thanks

Subject: Newbie-ish Patch Cache Question

Q: What would prevent someone from writing a Driver or inbetween program
(like MidiMapper) that would make the Gus load the patch on the Patch
select command.
It seems the current setting - assumes that the patches are
preloaded.
Why not just have some sort of PatchCache Daemon running that traps
the "change patch" message and sends the appropriate command to the GUS.
This would make all sequencers work and seems to be a more universal solution.

I'm sure this has been brought up/discussed/argued/proven/disproven - but it
doesn't seem to have been written. :) (i'd just like to know what the
current arguments/issues are )

Thanks -
`Brian
