Hi,

heh, nope. GUS has ONLY digitized voices. but 32independent channels (okay,
think only about 14 channels in CD Quality) with looping enables you to
create own "synthesized" instrument - just create short wave (like OPL did
using sine-waveforms), put it to memory and play with looping as long as you
want :))

this methos is usualy called Wave-Table synthesis - you just create two (or
four waves), using independend channels, volume, 6-point envelope,
vibrato+volume_vibrato, specified pitch, of course looping, and all this
Xfaded - and the result is REALISTIC (much more than SB's FM *grin*), this
way of synth is now used on all good synth-keyboards.
All you need is memory for two waves, if you are storing two looped waves it
req. not so much of memory.......
THis way of synthesis is also used in Ultrasound's midi-patches - and sounds
really good... they are samplet at 44kHz, 16 bit, so they are a little long,
but...

GUS MAX SDK Availability.

Now that the MAX (or is that Max?) and the DB/16 have been out for
several months (it seems):

1 - Has an SDK covering the added features of these been readied? If it has,
or is near its release, what type of coverage is given to the new features
(namely the CS4231)?

2 - If it has, or is near its release, has there been expanded coverage given
to the old features (namely the GF1)?

3 - And is the super-flux jumper going to be documented, or does this mode
remain undocumented?
