Subject: Hello.. Let's work together.

I got a GUS about 7 months ago. I think I bought it at a very good
time: the software was pretty mature - so I didn't feel like I was a
real world beta tester, the card seems to have reached a level of
maturity (but how much further must we revise?! Rev. 3.4, for goodness
sakes?!), and the people I have encountered are just plain excited about
the card! I really made a startling jump when I upgraded from my SB
MONO in sound!! I am hooked. Now that that nice stuff is said..

I am writing a DOS VIDEO GAME! I would like to do the (un)thinkable
and support only two sound devices: the GUS, and the beeper! I would
like more people to start making the needed transition to wavetable sound
peripherals - and the GUS is the leader in my mind. FM is simply ate up,
and MIDI limits a musicians' creativity from what I have been told. I am
lost in the area of music and sound theory. I will be taking a class next
semester (starting January) detailing electronic music, but I will need
help to implement any computer music. I would like some talented
individuals to help me in my venture.

I would like to write an assembly library that can load samples into the
gus' memory, for playing sound effects and S3M files. I like S3M because
of it's neat effects - but if we do well, I'd like to develop a new
format of our own. Anyhow, since noone posts to this list much anymore,
please reply publicly, just so folks see what (lack?!) of interest there
is in this. I would like to begin development February 1, 1995. Thanks,
and keep on GUSsing!
