A good practice is to store 0000h at address 0 and place any stopped voices
there to avoid clipping problems like you're described.

Is there ANYONE else out there writing GUS stuff using WATCOM C? I
got the GUS SDK to compile pretty easily, except that the DOS extender
(DOS4GW) doesn't like hardware IRQ's higher than 7 (my GF1 IRQ is set
to 11). I threw some gross code in to get around it, but I'm hoping
there is a better solution, one which is more elegant, robust, and
doesn't involve buying a new DOS extender. Has anyone else found this
problem and found a way to fix it? Or am I alone, a single Watcom
island in a sea of Microsoft/Borland GUS programmers?
