Subject: Patch Banks?

Howdy,

I am stunned. When I wanted to create custom patch banks for myself
starting from bank #64 (standard user patch bank number), I found
out that the GUS PatchManager's BankManager doesn't let me create
totally independent patch banks. That is, according to this wonderful
piece of software, ALL of my patch banks MUST be based on the GUS
GMIDI set.

What I would like to create is some completely user defined patch banks.
So I do not want to have Program #0 called as an Acoustic Piano, but
rather as something like African Widget #1 and have the african1.pat
mapped to this program. And so on. BankManager only lets me to edit
the mappings, not the actual progam names, which basicly sux in my
opinion.

As I am fairly new to the MIDI-world, can someone PLEASE help me
create my OWN patch banks? Thanx, any help is appreciated!

(BTW, I know that this way my patch banks will not conform to any
standard, but what I would like to do is only to organize my
huge patch-collection under Windows some way.)
