Q & A SET FILES FOR VOCAL-EYES
LAST UPDATED ON TUESDAY FEBRUARY 17 1998

This document describes (basically) the set files for Q & A version 4.0

Most things should work with these but I'm putting them around so that I can get some extra feedback on what needs to be done.

2 set files are provided and they are: "QA1.SET", this is the main set file that is loaded when Q & A is run.

The second is the "QA4EDIT.SET" file which is loaded when the editor is called. The editor is called when word processing, designing a form, expanding feelds etc.

The word "EDITOR" will be spoken when the editor is called and the words "OUT OF EDITOR" will be spoken when the program exits the editor (put this in for fine tuning purposes more than anything else but found that it was nice to know where I was in Q and A at any one time.)

Things I Know work are:

When adding, designing or performing any other data file operation, Q and A will prompt for a file name, this prompt will be spoken.

When a data file is opened for adding/updating/searching etc, the current status of the database will be spoken.

Most error messages are read but some are a bit distorted.

The spell checker works although when in the alternatives list you will have to use the "READ WINDOW 15" hotkey at times to find out what the spelling of the presented alternative is. I've defined this key to "ALT-["

Most hotkeys have been undefined and a few new cursor keys added in the editor. For example, CONTROL-Y deletes a line. When this keystroke is activated the current line (the one below the one just deleted) is read.

This should be enough to get you all going. If you have any suggestions for any improvements or you have made some yourselves, please don't hesitate to get in touch.
