These instructions were written for iTunes version 12.5.4.42, on Windows 7 Home Premium64-bit
using Jaws 18, and are not meant to be a complete guide for the program,
but should give some guidance in accomplishing some general tasks.

The latest version of iTunes can be downloaded from:

http://www.apple.com/itunes/download/

While these steps worked on my system, it is no guarantee that Jaws will read the same on all systems.

Each section is marked with an asterisk (*).
Placing a "*" in the edit box of the Notepad search function will allow for quicker access to each section using the F3 key.

*Installation:
The installer is typical of most installers, and can be navigated with the tab key,
and the options can be checked or unchecked with the spacebar.
Jaws did read the progress bar as the individual components were installed.
After the install is complete, the first time you run iTunes, there will be a dialogue to accept the license agreement, and an option
to take a quick tour.

I agreed to the terms of the license agreement, and knowing that the program is highly graphical,
opted not to take the tour.

Note: Both iTunes and iCloud will put items in the startup tab of the System Configuration Utility
but these are not necessary for the program to work properly.

however, do not uncheck any of the related services , or the program will not update, or sync with your phone, or allow access to the
iTunes store from within the program.

Apple Mobile Device Service: provides the interface to Apple mobile devices.

Bonjour Service: enables hardware devices and software services to automatically configure themselves on the network, and advertise
their presence.

*Configuration:
iTunes does have a menu bar which is completely accessible,
and there is actually a commands menu, where additional keystrokes can be found, as well a Help menu.
however, as of this writing, the Jaws cursor is of little use, as text information is not available in every dialogue.

Note: when using the menus, after arrowing to the menu you want, you will need to down arrow first, before you can up arrow to access
the bottom of the menu more quickly.

Once you have gotten past the above mentioned, you will want to go through the Preferences and make some changes to the program
settings, by doing the following:

1. Press the Alt key, then right arrow to the edit menu, then arrow to Preferences and press enter.

2. When this dialogue opens, the focus will probably be on the okay button,
so just tab until you come to the General button, which is the first in a list of settings
Jaws reads these list items as buttons, but they really don't appear to be.
You can navigate these settings with the up and down arrow keys, and once you select one, then just tab through the controls,
making your choices as you go.
At the end of each set of options is an okay button, there is no apply button,
so if you want to continue with other selections, press the okay button when you are done.
The options in this dialogue are pretty straight forward, but more info can be found in the help menu.
In the General preferences dialogue, make sure, Show: List view checkboxes is checked.

3. When you reach the Advanced button, and tab through the controls, make sure that the enable full keyboard navigation checkbox is
checked.
When you reach the okay button, spacebar it to save your changes.

Once you have configured iTunes on the computer, you will need to connect your phone, and authorize your computer,
this will allow you to sync your phone to Itunes, and connect to the App store using your Apple ID.

*Connecting your phone:
1. Using the charging cable that came with your phone, connect the phone to your computer.

2. After connecting your phone, a dialogue will pop up asking if you want this computer to access your phone,
Spacebar the continue button, and another dialogue will open on your phone, asking you to confirm .

3. On your phone, select and double tap the trust button, and the dialogue will close on both the phone and computer.

4. Next, you should get another dialogue asking if you want to download iCloud for Windows, this is optional.
However, if you decide to install, be aware that there is a pop-up window asking you to enable the Google Tool bar.
If you wish to install iCloud, arrow down the page until you come to the download link, and then choose the option to save, then run
the installer from the saved location.
The installer for iCloud is a typical installer.

5. Press the F6 key until you come to the search box, and then tab 3 times and you should come to the "iPhone" button, press the
spacebar.

6. Tab until you come to, "Device Side bar Tree-View", and Jaws should say summary
and announce it's position in the list.
This is a list view, and can be navigated with the up and down arrow keys.
This is where you select what will be synced with your phone from iTunes.

7. Arrow to an item in the list, and then use the tab key to move through the selections for that item.

8. After making your selections for an item, shift tab to return to the list, and arrow to the next item, and repeat the above step.
9. To sync Calendars, contacts and bookmarks, choose "Info" from the list and then tab to move through the options.

10. After making your selections, locate the "Sync" button, and press the spacebar.
11. When syncing is complete, and you are finished, locate the "Done" button, and press the spacebar.
12. Before disconnecting your phone, tab to the "Eject" button, and press the spacebar.

Note: Once you have come to the list item, "Info",
you may hear some selections below it repeated from above.

Below are steps for performing specific tasks in iTunes, but not all features of the program are covered.
The F6 key can be used to move through the tab controls more quickly.
Make sure the program is maximized for best performance with Jaws.

If you are wanting to transfer music and ring tones to your phone, the following steps can be used :
Note: The iPhone will play several audio file types, but I would not recommend using .wav format since they are so large, and would
quickly consume space on the phone.

*Music:
*Option #1
1. Select the files you want to transfer, and copy them to the clipboard.

2. Select and open the folder, Automatically Add to iTunes, which can be found in the file path below:
C:\Users\Your Name\Music\iTunes\iTunes Media
and paste your files here.
After the copying is complete, a new folder named "Music", will be created in the iTunes Media folder
and that is where your files will be stored.

3. Open the iTunes program, and press control + 1 on the number row
to open the music Window of the program, and tab until you come to a list box which contains the files you copied.

when your phone is connected, the files should copy to your phone, and a tone can be heard when the process is complete.
If you wish to track the progress of the transfer, you can press the F6 key until you hear the progress, and periodically check by
using the Jaws key + Tab.
Note: If you are only transferring 1 or 2 songs, the transfer may complete before you get a chance to get to the progress bar.

*Option #2:
1. Open iTunes, and press the F6 key until you hear the below message:
"Songs and videos you add to iTunes will appear in your music library, your music purchases in iCloud will also appear whenever you
are signed into the iTunes store."

When you hear this message, you can paste your selections here.
Note: This message will only appear if there are no songs in the library.

2. Now this area has become a multi-select list box, and you can select from the list to add to a playlist.
Note: Keep in mind that if your songs need to be in a specific order, that is how you should select them to be in the playlist.

*Deleting content from iTunes:
To delete a song, ring tone, book etc.,simply select it from your list, and press the delete key, and follow the prompts, using the
tab key.

*Playlists:
*Option #1:
1. To create a playlist, go to the file menu, and select "new playlist", and press enter.

2. When the dialogue opens you should be in an edit field where you can name your playlist,
keeping in mind that you can't have any spaces in the name, so you can use a dash or underline between words.

3. After you have given your playlist a name, press enter to save your changes.

4. to add songs to your playlist, navigate to the list of songs that you previously added to iTunes,
and down arrow through the list to a song, then press the applications key, or shift + F10 to open the context menu and select the add to playlist sub-menu.
Make your choice in this sub-menu, and press enter.

Note: when arrowing through your list of songs, you can hold the shift key downas you up or down arrow to select multiple songs,
using control + A to select all does not work in iTunes.

Once you have created a playlist, and added songs to it, it should be copied to your phone the next time you sync with iTunes.

*Option #2:

"Click edit playlist, to add items to this playlist"
when you hear the above message, you can paste your selections here.
and that area will become a multi-select listbox.

*Ring Tones:
The process for transferring ring tones is the same as for music above, making sure that files have the .m4r extension, and are no
longer than 30 seconds in length.
After the files have been copied, a new folder named "Tones", will be created in the iTunes Media folder, and that is where your
files will be stored.

*Deleting music from your iPhone:
The below steps worked on my phone, but the simplest way can be found above, see:
*Deleting content from iTunes:

When using the native Music app on the phone, the following steps can be used to delete individual songs.
1. Open the Music app.

2. Flick to the right until you come to the"Library" button, if it does not say selected, double-tap to select it.

3. Continue to right-flick until you come to the song you want to delete, then double-tap it.

4. Right-flick until you come to the "Downloaded" button, and double-tap it.
You will get the following dialogue:
"This album has been downloadedto this phone,do you want to delete it from my music, or remove the downloads from this iPhone"?
Right-flick and you will come to 3 buttons, "delete from my music",button, "remove downloads" button, and "Cancel" button,
make your selection and then double-tap it.
If you chose to delete the downloads, the song will be removed from your phone,
however, the next time you sync your phone to iTunes, it will be returned to the phone.
If you chose to delete from my music, the song will be removed from the phone,
however, the next time you sync your phone to iTunes, it will be returned to the phone.

Note: As of the time of this writing, it escapes me why using this method would be better than simply deleting the songs from iTunes
on the computer.
