PLATFORMS:
Windows 95, Windows 98, Windows NT 4.0

DESCRIPTION:
Explorer Notes 2 lets you associate a note of up to 255 characters with any file
or folder. You add or edit notes via the right-click context menu, and search
for notes using the Start menu's Find option. Right-click and right-drag menu
items let you copy, move, rename, or delete files while updating their notes. A
Note Manager utility offers tools for backup, repair, and other note management
tasks.

REVISION HISTORY:
Changes in Version 2.1 fixes a number of small problems:
- On some systems, the Explorer Note option on the Start menu's Find submenu
didn't function. This has been fixed.
- The EN2 menu items that appeared when you right-clicked a shortcut acted on
the file pointed to by the shortcut. Now when you right-click or right-drag a
shortcut, the EN2 menu items do not appear.
- The Note Manager's Explorer menu choice no longer fails if the filename
contains a comma.
- The Note Manager's Restore menu choice is now able to restore a backup .REG
file residing in a folder whose name contained a comma.
- The Explorer Notes menu items now appear when you right-drag a note-equipped
file to the desktop.
- If the Find Note dialog (accessed from the Start menu's Find menu) located
a file with a very long pathname, the end of the name was cut off. Now the
pathname is shortened to fit the space and ensure that the filename portion
is visible.
- If you right-dragged a file within the same folder, the EN2 menu items did not
operate correctly. The "Copy here w/ note" item would refuse to make a copy, and
the "Move here w/ note" item would actually delete the note. This was fixed by
suppressing those menu items when the source and destination folders are the same.

Changes in Version 2.0
- Explorer Notes 1 ran only under Win95 and was incompatible with IE4. Version 2
uses a different approach, and runs under Win95, Win98, WinNT4, and the current
beta of WinNT5. Notes created with Explorer Notes 1 can be imported into Version
2.

INSTALLATION:
Explorer Notes 2 is supplied as a self-contained INSTALL program. Run this
program to install EN2 in the directory of your choice. The install program will
create the shell extensions for EN2, and add the Note Manager utility and the
EN2 help file to your Start menu. To uninstall EN2, use the Add/Remove Programs
applet in Control Panel. Highlight "Explorer Notes 2" in the program list, and
click Add/Remove.
