If you go into the Start Menu, Programs, JAWS 8, Explore JAWS, "Explore
My Settings" you will probably find that you have a file here called
"Default.jcf". If so, move to the file and press the Application Key to get a context
menu. Now, choose "Open with submenu" and open it with Notepad.
Next, look for the [Options] section in the file.
If you find it, move under that line, insert a blank line and paste in
the following line:
numlock=2|Num lock
Then, save the file and close it. From then on, when you boot up the num
lock will remain how it was when you shut down.
If you did not find [Options] in the file, you can move to the bottom of
the file and add the following two lines:
[Options]
numlock=2|Num lock
