Create a signature line with hyperlink in windows live mail

This was used in a windows 7 machine and the latest windows live mail client.

If you enter your information in the signature tab text area it is a much easier process. That is fine if you do not want a hyperlink in your signature. In order to create the link you must use the file option. Here you create an htm or html file and then have that inserted as your signature. Here are the steps that I used to accomplish that task.

First you must create an htm file containing your signature information and hyper link. I used word to create the file.

I first entered line 1 text and enter

Then entered the Line 2 text and enter

Next I used the applications key and arrow down to select create hyperlink

You would then enter your link information such as http:// mypage.com

Now save the file as c:\signature.htm or anywhere you would like to keep the file. I chose c: for simplicity.

You are now finished creating the htm file and time to modify the signature line in windows live mail.

Now when you launched windows live mail, use control shift O to get to the option tabs.

Control tab until you locate the signature tab.

As you go down through the options first Check add signature to all out going messages.

I Checked do not add signature to forwards or replies (unless you really want that)

Now click on new

You will find two boxes text or file, select file.

Then enter the file address c:\signature.htm.

You will then Arrow down to and select advanced.

You may see Microsoft communities and your isp such as Verizon.

In my case I checked Verizon.

Then Click ok.

Now continue to arrow down until you come to browse.

Your file is most likely selected.

Click open and then apply. then ok

Congratulations! Your signature containing the hyperlink will be at the bottom of all outgoing emails.
