A special notice about doing an update to JAWS for
Windows version 1.1 or later is in the file
"UPDATE.TXT". The setup steps in this file must be
followed when updating from all JAWS versions that
precede version 1.1.

An instruction Guide for installing a new copy of
JAWS is contained in the file "SETUP.TXT".

Information for purchasers of the JAWS for Windows
timed evaluation program is contained in the file
"TIMED.TXT".

A copy of the Henter-Joyce, Inc., Software License
Agreement is contain in the file "LICENSE.TXT", and is
also provided as a print document.

The text files identified above are located in the
subdirectory with this README file. ASCII text files
for JAWS manuals are contained in the
"\JFW\MANUALS\ENU" subdirectory. ASCII text files for
technical notes are contained in the
"\JFW\TECNOTES\ENU" subdirectory.

All of our printed documentation for JAWS is also
available in our on-line help system. To use the help
system, activate the JAWS application window by
pressing INSERT+J. Next press ALT+H to pull down the
Help menu, and then choose one of the menu options
listed below.

Choose "Contents" from the JAWS Help Menu to use
the JAWS for Windows manuals and Setup Guide.

Choose "Quick Reference" to look-up keyboard
     commands for JAWS or Windows.

Choose "Changes" to read about program
     improvements and new features.

New features not found in the other documentation:

PassKeyThrough: Press this key first, then the
following key is pas through to the application, bypassing the JAWS macro
processor. Very useful if you use a laptop or like to use the same keys
that the application might use.
It is currently bound to the Insert+3 (numbers row) key in the default macro
file, "DEFAULT.JMS". It can be moved to any key combination you like.

There is now a new way to start JAWS for Windows. If you
are in DOS and type JFW, Windows will load, then load
JAWS for Windows. Note that RUNJFW will still work, as well
as double clicking on the icon when already in Windows. Previously typeing
JFW on the DOS command line would have informed you that Windows was
required to run this program. This is of great benefit to
the users of An OpenBook Unbound from ArkenStone: from DOS, type JFW to run
JFW, or type OB to run Open Book. Be sure that JFW is not installed in your
startup group.
